Physical and chemical properties: Mostly white prismatic crystal or powder. It has a melting point of 122.13℃, a boiling point of 249℃, and a relative density of 1.2659. At 100℃, it sublimates rapidly, and its vapor is highly irritating. Benzoic acid is slightly soluble in water, but easily soluble in ethanol, ether and other organic solvents.
